Ryan McMahon

Ryan is an entrepreneurial sales professional with 25 plus years of experience in the steel industry. His experiences include carbon steel sheet, plate, coil, mechanical tube, fence tube, structural tube, and pipe. His career has focused upon building relationships between steel mills, service centers/distributors, and manufacturers promoting a spirit of partnership between the buyers and sellers.

Ryan first entered the steel business in 1997, joining Steel Warehouse Company Inc. as an inside sales representative. He worked with mills and large OEM’s processing steel coil into plate, sheet, blanks, and slit coil. In this capacity, Ryan grew in his knowledge of steel types, special grades, and their associated performance characteristics within the manufacturing setting.

In 2000, Ryan relocated to Texas when he was asked to join a Steel Warehouse Company subsidiary, Lock Joint Tube, and was instrumental in growing their mechanical tube market share in the Southwest.

In 2003, Ryan realized that his ability to maximize company ROI while delivering value added products to a diverse customer base could be put into play on behalf of a number of strategically selected companies. He founded RM Components as a premier manufacturer’s representation firm, and proudly represents strategic principals in 16 states and the Province of British Columbia.

Ryan’s proudest accomplishment is successfully navigating the “great recession”. RM Components’ talented team grew their principals’ businesses by adding more new customers and market share than was lost during that difficult time.

A native of South Bend, Indiana and a graduate of Indiana University, Ryan currently resides in Georgetown, Texas. Outside of work, Ryan enjoys time with his family, hockey, golf, and fishing.

Jeff Gruber

Born in Northern Indiana, Jeff was the youngest of 5 children and quickly learned he had to work harder and smarter than the others to get ahead.

After graduating from Allegheny College with a BA in Political Science, Cum Lade, Jeff moved to Seattle, Washington. There, he earned a Master’s Degree from Seattle University. He spent 15 years driving online advertising sales for a few Northwest based technology start-ups and working in non-profit leadership. Before joining RM Components, he successfully managed a 40-bed conference center near Olympic National Park.  Under his leadership, the conference center achieved profitability for the first time in its operational history.

Jeff thrives in relationship building, helping people, and strategic thinking. He joined the RM Components team in 2012. Jeff brings a lifelong competitive spirit and inspiring work ethic to his territory on behalf of his customer base. Whether competing for seconds at the family dinner table, someone to throw him the ball, or earning a spot in a customer’s order book, Jeff never gives up.

Jeff currently resides in the Seattle, WA area, where he enjoys spending time with his family, golf, and anything outdoors.

Kale originates from East Texas as the middle of five children. Raised by a mother who ran an indoor soccer/inline hockey arena and a Federal Agent stepfather, his childhood was always exciting. Playing soccer since he was 6 years old earned him a scholarship at Ouachita Baptist University. At OBU he majored in Psychology, graduating Cum Laude in 2009. Upon graduation, Kale spent a year in East Asia teaching English as a second language. After teaching he spent an additional six months backpacking through New Zealand.

Kale’s career in steel began at O’Neal Steel in 2012. After working initially as an inside sales representative, he became engaged with their Dallas, Denver, and Houston offices, developing a strong understanding of steel products, applications, and processing.

In a short period of time O’Neal Steel recognized Kale for his professional work ethic, salesmanship, and ability to exceed customer expectations. In 2014, he was nominated and won the O’Neal Presidential Award for Sales Excellence. Kale joined the RM Components team in June 2015 to beget a superior service experience for customers and the principals we represent.

In his free time, Kale enjoys soccer, hiking, golf, and traveling. Having visited 31 countries on four continents, he chose to reside in the Houston, TX area, with his wife and kids.

Bob Walton

Bob Walton

Bob is a true Texan, born and raised on the gulf coast near Houston. After high school graduation, he enlisted in the US Navy (1969 – 1973) serving aboard the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise during the Vietnam War.

Upon completion of his military service, Bob returned to Texas where his career in the steel industry started. His steel story began as a cost accountant for Southwestern Pipe, a pipe and tube mill in Houston. After 18 months of accounting, he spent 7 years on an inside sales desk, followed by 22 years as an outside salesperson and tubing product manager. In all, he spent 31 years at Southwestern Pipe.

Bob joined Ryan McMahon as a co-owner of RM Components in 2008 covering the states of Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Mississippi. He currently manages key accounts in the Houston and Dallas areas, as well as accounting and purchasing duties for RM Components.

Outside of work, Bob enjoys spending time at the lake with his family and friends, driving his restored classic 1957 Chevy pickup, and playing racquetball.
